Located in the garden of the Borthwick Institute, Peasholme Green. Some of the tile waste found here bears the stamps of Legio IX Hispania, and seems to have been the main tile and pottery production site for the Legionary Fortress.

Note: there is a slight doubt as to whether the site referred to in the very brief Pastscape entry is the same site, as the GRs are slightly different and the descriptions differ. If you’re reading this it’s because I haven’t had chance to sort it out with York Archaeological Trust yet!
